Discovering Tugu Bali Hotel?

Tugu Bali Hotel Description
Wantilan Agung is decorated with wooden Boma Heads (mythological giant guardians) on the top of crossbeams, and columns inspired by the ancient ceremonial house in the ancient village of Bayung Gede. Among the antiquities displayed here is the precious Cupu Manik. The main entrance leads to the resort's 22 rooms and suites, amidst tropical gardens and a tranquil pool of wild lotus.

No rooms are exactly the same like one another; however, all has exotic luxuries such as oversized beds with scattered fresh petals at nights, silvered local artisan's sunken baths, private plunge pools, spa area, homemade natural amenities and much more. The hotel spa offers treatments using traditional Balinese methods and all natural ingredients such as carrot, cucumber, yogurt and Indonesian Jamu elixirs..
Among Hotel Tugu Bali's artistic and cultural highlights are a 4.9-meter tall wooden giant Garuda carved from a 120-years-old tree; guardian statues from the 12th century; a 150-year-old wooden well; an immense 19th century marble table; two suites built in memory of distinguished individuals who contributed to the art and culture of Indonesia; a vast collection of Indonesian art located throughout the resort and in its exclusively gallery; a 19th century meeting room decorated with royal antiques and other works commemorating Bali's greatest heroes; and Bale Sutra (The Palace of Harmony), an elegant dining room recalling an 18th century Kang Xi period temple.
Dancing & Gamelan ClassAncient, traditional Balinese dances are known to be one of the most beautiful in Indonesia, and sadly may well be on its way to extinction as younger generations show little interest in the rich, exotic heritage of the island. Balinese dances are accompanied by gamelan music, which consists of various different instruments that make one whole orchestra.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Nestled between the pristine, wave-sung sunset beach of Canggu, the whispering rice fields, the quaint fishermen village, and the adjacent Batu Bolong Temple, one of Bali's most sacred, Hotel Tugu Bali is said to be an experience too surreally beautiful to be true. As is the case with the creation of the other Tugu properties, Hotel Tugu Bali was built upon a passion for the romantic beauty of the art, history and culture of the islands of Java and Bali. A vast collection of priceless Indonesian antiques and artworks adorned the many faces of the hotel, blending pure tropical luxury with an out-of-the-ordinary ambience.

The staff takes care of guests with the exceptional beauty, grace and thoroughness for which Asian hospitality is known. In the gourmet side, Tugu Bali presents the rare opportunity to savor superb ancient dining experiences, some of which have vanished from the island's nowadays life. Like the other Tugu hotels, Tugu Bali is one of the references in culinary art in the island, catering to the President of Indonesia even beyond Bali.

30 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from Seminyak's new and hip nightlife and restaurant quarters, 10 minutes from the famously breathtaking Tanah Lot as well as a golf course that is known to be one of the best in South East Asia, stepping foot on Hotel Tugu Bali means leaving the modern days behind and entering a new dimension that is rather unearthly. It is a place where time stops, where only the most romantic tales happened once upon a time.

Spa
The spas at Tugu Bali blend the one thousand and one exotic spices, roots, herbs and flowers of the islands, creating oils and elixirs based on ancient traditions dated back to historic Indonesia. Tugu Bali spas practice treatments that range from pure indulgence to peace of the soul. From treatment that is based on the traditional Balinese dances to hot stone treatment using spice-soaked volcanic stones, a Tugu Bali spa experience is a compulsory beginning to a stay in the Island of the Gods.

Mantra
The new treatment area of Waroeng Djamoe Spa is named ‘Mantra’, after the ancient Sanskrit word, and features the signature Mantra therapy. At the Mantra, simple mantras are combined with a slow, paced, deep tissue aromatic massage using warmed virgin coconut oil containing homegrown tropical spices and roots. As the spices, roots and warmed coconut oil envelope the body and mellow muscle tensions, the mantras chanted by the therapists calm the mind, bring peace to the soul, and increase oneness of the conscience, bringing together a feeling of entire serenity, lightness and soulful relaxation, as the body and mind become one with nature.
Mantras originated in India with Vedic Hinduism and were later adopted by Buddhists, Sikhs and Jains. A mantra is a syllable, word or verse, which has been revealed to a sage in deep meditation. A mantra, when recited with devotion, concentration and understanding, revitalizes the body and mind with mystic power, and harmonizes thought and action. When repeated constantly during meditation, first loudly and then through silent and mental chanting, mantra changes the consciousness. The practice of simple mantras can result in a number of material benefits such as relaxation, reduced stress, better health, better self image. In non-religious practice. simple two-syllable mantras are used. The mere repetition of these syllables can have a calming effect on the mind.

The Mantra Spa opens to Hotel Tugu Bali’s lush tropical garden. With dimly-lit red Nepalese lanterns, flickering candles, old wooden paintings of the beautiful goddess Tara, as well as faint whisper of the Indian Ocean waves, the Mantra Spa is a heavenly sanctuary stroked with the warm late afternoon glow and quaint ocean breeze, as dusk falls in the island of the Gods.

Kamar Solek (the make-up Hut)
"Solek" in Javanese means grooming or doing one's make-up. Kamar Solek used to be the bed of a king from the Island of Madura in the end of 18th century. This is an outdoor hut that is dedicated to the traditional grooming for Javanese ladies in the old days.

Kamar Molek Seger Waras
Molek" means beautiful, and "Seger Waras" means fresh, healthy, and full of energy. The authentic Balinese and Javanese treatments are done on old massage beds used once upon a time to store rice. Kamar Molek Seger Waras has indoor and outdoor areas, for treatments that include herbal baths and exotic floral aromatherapies.

Gubug Nglamun Leha-leha
"Nglamun Leha-Leha" is a Javanese expression for daydreaming and lazing. It is an intimate al-fresco treatment hut filled with sea breeze and the sound of waves. The signature Keraton Leha-Leha Treatment for two is usually done here, a head-to-toe pampering that is a combination of Javanese massage, spice scrub, milk splash, and more.

Kamar Dandang Goela: Sumringah ing Jagat
Kamar Dandang Goela has its own signature treatment, the Gemulai Penari, a whole ritual that is characterized by water treatment and a massage methodology that is based on traditional Balinese dancing movements.

Kamar "The Samedhi"
"Samedhi" is a Javanese meditation that came into existence long before the introduction of Buddhism in the 8th century. The signature treatment in this room is the Dandang Watoe, an ancient massage therapy using stones from the Yang Tze River in China and the volcanic mountain in Central Java. The stones are heated in traditional steamers using exotic spices and herbs, before located on important pressure points and rhythmically massaged.

Cooking Class
Cooking Class The cooking class in Waroeng Tugu is a unique lifestyle experience that speaks of hundreds years old of traditions, of the beautiful humbleness and the exotic richness of Indonesian dining and cooking culture, all at the same time. The classes are held by Iboe Soelastri, our Indonesian chef who has begun to learn cooking from her grandmother when she was just 4 years old. The class is begun with a visit to Balinese traditional market where you will submerge into the daily Balinese way of living. Pick the recipes you favor most and finish with a Waroeng dinner experience, eating with bare hands surrounded by oil lamps, stone grinders, and traditional steamers on wood-fire terra-cotta stoves in the open kitchen.
Offerings, Flower & Palm leaf Arrangement
The preparation of the frequent Balinese celebrations and ceremonies plays a major role in the island's traditional way of life, although time consuming and restricted to very disciplined attention to details. Balinese offerings, flower & “janur” (palm leaf) arrangement are so colorful, exotic and unique that they were recurrently reviewed in international books and learnt by many around the world.

Bike and Bendi Tours
It is said that Canggu Beach has one of the most beautiful sunsets in the island. Tour the Canggu village area and the surrounding breezy Balinese paddy fields on an antique horse-drawn bendi cart, or at your own pace on bikes
A Stroll to the Morning Fish Market
